Covid-19 Protocol
Dear patients and parents,
We hope this message finds you and your family well. Please read the following information and know that everything that we are doing is ultimately in an effort to ensure the safety of our patients, families, and staff, all of whom are such an important part of our community.
We have made changes to our office structure and clinical protocols in adherence with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario’s Covid-19 guideline. Some of these are evident when you visit the practice and some are not.
Enhanced Cleaning & Safety Measures:
Sneeze guards have been installed. Some of the waiting room furniture, as well as toys and books, have been removed. We sanitize all touched surfaces between each and every family.
Our building has increased cleaning protocols. We ask you to please bring mask or face covering when entering the building because we are located in a medical building/facility. Our staff will continue to wear N95s in the clinic.
Air purification units have been installed in all treatment rooms and the waiting room. These HEPA units come with UV-C technology to reduce airborne pathogens.
Daily Screening & Pre-screening:
Daily screening for symptoms and temperature checks are done for our staff.
Anne, our receptionist, will contact you to confirm the appointment ahead of time. If your child(ren) are feeling unwell, please kindly inform Anne. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.
When you enter the office, hand sanitizer is available for you.
Your Dental Appointment:
Fewer appointments are offered to enable physical distancing.
Please follow Anne’s instructions when entering the clinic. We invite one family at a time to use the waiting area. Please be patient with Anne as she will be cleaning and disinfecting the waiting room after each use.
All treatment rooms, as before Covid-19 requirements, are thoroughly cleaned after each appointment and any additional high touch surfaces such as chairs (all non-porous) are also wiped down.
We provide regular mouthwash or 1% povidone-iodine mouth rinse prior to aerosol-generating procedures (e.g. fillings) to reduce potential viruses in the oral cavity and minimize risk to others.
We will be wearing additional personal protective equipments (PPEs), such as gowns and face-shields, when we see you. Please know that we change or disinfect PPEs regularly and between families.
Vaccination:
We are happy to inform you that all our doctors and staff have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
We look forward to seeing you soon. We hope you stay healthy and safe during these extraordinary times.
Best,
Drs. Wu and Fratkin
