Dr. Yichen Bridget Wu

BSc, DDS, FRCDC, DAPBD
Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Wu is a board-certified specialist in pediatric dentistry, a Fellow of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Canada, and a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

She graduated from McGill University with an honour’s degree in Microbiology and Immunology and a published researcher at the Alan Edwards Centre for Research on Pain. She then pursued her dental education at the University of Toronto. A recipient of the Dr. Robert E. Echlin Memorial Award in Outreach Dentistry, Dr. Wu travelled to the Hudson Bay area in support of oral health in remote areas of Northern Ontario. For her interest and dedication to pediatric dentistry, she was also awarded the Dr. Norman Levine Undergraduate Dental Student Award by the Canadian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

Wanting to work with children and special needs, Dr. Wu moved to the “City of Champions” or also known as Pittsburgh, USA where she completed her Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program at the University of Pittsburgh and its affiliated Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. She spent her years there extensively training in pediatric anesthesia and special healthcare needs.

Upon returning to Toronto, Dr. Wu worked at several practices in the GTA before joining Dr. Fratkin. Dr. Wu is currently a clinical attending at the University of Toronto’s Graduate Program in Pediatric Dentistry, where she teaches the residents in the surgical centre.

Dr. Wu lives with her husband, daughter Sophie, and fur baby, Caramel, a red Siberian husky in Toronto. In her spare time, you might find her with Sophie and Caramel in parks, fishing on Lake Simcoe, roaming the ROM, or cooking with her husband at the George Brown College Chef School.
